Change your default browser on the fly
Helium Foot Software, maker of MercuryMover, has added a new Mac app to its portfolio. Highbrow is a web browser management utility that enables Mac owners to use each installed web browser more effectively. Fresh out of beta, Highbrow 1.0 is now available to demo and buy.
To better explain how Highbrow can assist you, try to remember just how many times you've forgotten to change Safari, Firefox, Opera etc. to your default browser, or how many links you've opened in the wrong web browser just because you were too lazy to copy it, or failed to drag it properly? Too many times, right? Well, Highbrow can solve this problem for you.
Once installed, Highbrow can ask users which browser to use each time they click a link via an unintrusive heads-up display. The app even offers to open links in applications that have a built-in browser, such as Evernote. However, this is just one of the three separate behaviors that you can select from. You also have the possibility to switch the system-wide web browser easily via the Highbrow menu, or can change the browser on the fly as you shift between web browsers. There is no reason not to download and try the fully functional trial version of Highbrow. All the features are there, including the app's ability to automatically check for updates.
Currently, Highbrow supports English only. Requirements include a Mac running at least OS X 10.5 and just 2.5 MB hard drive space. Both PowerPC and Intel processors are compatible. Best of all, if you buy Highbrow now, you benefit from an introductory price of just $12 USD. You can use the link below to grab the fully-featured trial (demo) version of Highbrow, or to immediately buy the app.
