RIM Officially Debuts BlackBerry 10 OS
As expected, Research In Motion (RIM) has just taken the wrap off its new BlackBerry 10 operating system, formerly known as BBX.

Based on PlayBook OS, BlackBerry 10 was unveiled at the BlackBerry World conference in Orlando, Florida. For the time being, developers can download a toolkit for native and HTML5 software development, which will soon be available for download here.

Although RIM announced the availability of these SDKs, the download links are not live yet, so developers might want to wait a few more hours before they become available.

According to RIM, the new toolkit offered to all devs who wish to create apps for the newly announced platform, includes the Blackberry 10 Native SDK with Cascades, which allows developers to submit graphically rich and high performance native apps in C/C++ using Qt.

It is also worth mentioning the Native SDK for BlackBerry 10 comprises a range of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that enables devs to access core device features and a range of BlackBerry apps services, including Push and Payment services.

With Cascades native application development toolset, developers will be able to easily create visually rich apps without having to write “complex, low-level graphics code.”

Furthermore, this toolkit also includes support for HTML5 application developers with the BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK.

Each developer attending to BlackBerry 10 Jam will be provided with a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device that has already been pictured a few days ago. RIM also confirmed that the first BlackBerry 10 devices would be released in the latter part of 2012, probably in October.

Developers building for BlackBerry 10 will be able to easily create the kind of cutting-edge apps that deliver truly engaging experiences and ‘wow’ customers, whether through integration with native features and other apps like BBM or by leveraging the new signature design elements of this new and powerful mobile computing platform,” said Alec Saunders, vice president, Developer Relations and Ecosystems Development.

Rumor has it that the vendor plans on releasing Windows Phone 8 devices soon, maybe before the end of this year, and that it could use Galaxy S3’s hardware as the basis for these.

No official confirmation on the matter has emerged thus far, but a recent article on wp-life claims that the info comes from a source familiar with Samsung’s plans.

The first Windows Phone 8 device from Samsung could arrive as Samsung Focus S II, and should be a high-end successor for the original Focus S.

With Windows Phone 8, Microsoft reportedly made dramatic changes to its mobile platform, designing it to fit more powerful hardware than before.

Thus, Samsung will be able to use Galaxy S3’s hardware to build Windows Phones that will deliver performance similar with that of high-end Android devices.

The rumored specs list of Focus S II includes a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen display, complemented by either a dual-core or a quad-core application processor, depending on the market on which the phone will be released.

Additionally, the device will pack a 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, complemented by a 2MP camera on the front, for video calling.

Other features of the device would include NFC capabilities, support for LTE connectivity, a dedicated camera button, better Photo Studio, and Samsung Cloud Support.

The smartphone would reportedly feature a similar design with the one available on Galaxy S III, though the Windows Phone logo and buttons would feature a different layout.

Three of the largest wireless carriers in the United States should receive the device, namely AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. T-Mobile might launch it as well, but no plans on the matter have been confirmed until now.

Windows Phone 8 was long rumored to be an impressive update to the current Windows Phone flavor. It should prove highly popular, especially if loaded on such hardware.

Alleged Galaxy S3 leaked photo

The info arrives via a leaked image with what appears to be the final design of Samsung’s new flagship device, but no official confirmation on this is yet available.

According to the photo that an “anonymous tipster” sent to Know Your Mobile, the smartphone will sport a 130mm body, while its screen will be 4.8 inches in size.

Previously leaked images with the phone suggested that it won’t sport hardware buttons on the front, the same as on Galaxy Nexus.

In fact, the handset itself appears to resemble the latest Google phone out there, powered by the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The leading mobile phone maker is determined to make the new device official as soon as next week, during an Unpacked event set for May 3rd.

As the announcement date approaches, more and more details on what the phone could sport started to emerge.

Thus, we can expect Samsung’s Galaxy S3 to feature a 1.5GHz quad-core application processor in addition to the said 4.8-inch Super AMOLED MIPI display, along with support for HSPA+ 21Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps.

Moreover, the device should sport an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with autofocus and LED flash, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution.

Specific info on this handset will be released in the next few days, so stay tuned to learn more on what Samsung decided to pack it with.

In the meantime, however, have a look at the aforementioned leaked image with the device to make an idea of what it might look like, but take it with a grain of salt until the official unveiling is made.

Ubuntu for Android - How it works ?

There's been quite a bit of buzz since the announcement of Ubuntu for Android, and there's quite a bit of buzz in Hall 7 here at Mobile World Congress. Canonical's announcement of Ubuntu for Android kicked up quite a stir, but it also left us with a few unknowns.

That's where Canonical is showing off just what Ubuntu can do when paired to a dual-core smartphone, and it remains every bit impressive as when we got our preview a week ago.

The idea is that your phone becomes a mobile PC, switching from Android into full desktop Ubuntu mode when you dock it to a bigger display, keyboard and mouse. But just how well does it perform? When is it coming? How is it coming? And will tinkerers be able to install it for themselves?

Canonical let us into its London office today to try out the software and pepper one of its engineers with questions. First, the good news: Ubuntu for Android is everything it's been claimed to be. It's a functional desktop OS that sits alongside Android, shares the same kernel and has full read / write access to everything on your phone (the connectivity hardware itself plus contacts, emails, videos, apps and pretty much everything else.). It's also ready for ARM-compatible Ubuntu apps, potentially expanding the range of things your phone can do.

CONCLUSION : Your smartphone (at minimum a dual-core device) will have a custom Linux kernel. And on top of that runs Android and Ubuntu. They run in parallel; when you plug your phone into a HDMI display, it switches from Android to Ubuntu and you get a full desktop experience.

There are two videos here that would explain more details about ubuntu for android

Download Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit for Nokia Lumia

Download Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit for Nokia Lumia

The Lumia series is Nokia's only chance on the smartphone market. The bad news is that Windows Phone Marketplace still has a low number of apps in comparison with Android Market and App Store.

However, it's a good thing Microsoft's mobile platform gains more and more devs each week. Today, one of the most popular game in the “Need for Speed” franchise has been introduced in the Windows Phone Marketplace.

“Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit” is now available for Nokia Lumia users, as well as other Windows Phone devices that run the latest version (Mango) of Microsoft's operating system.

Unfortunately, as with all Windows Phone games, this one doesn't come for free. Those who want to try it out can do it for free, but the full game is available for £3.99 (6 USD or 4.8 EUR). Chek it out here.

Sprint Express - Smartphone QWERTY keyboard with Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Sprint has a pretty good collection of smartphones at the moment, which can satisfy anyone, from power users looking for a high end smartphone for all their work and entertainment to people switching from cellphones who want something affordable, yet still decent enough performance wise to run all the tasks they may need.

Of course, the arms race never ends between carriers, and they need new devices to be able to stay competitive, and Sprint is no exception. Among the many other smartphones coming to the network in the following months, the Sprint Express fills the low end budget inventory, and with its small overall size and portrait QWERTY keyboard, it might just be the perfect choice for those switching from their good old cellphone, but who still don’t want to get into the whole “whose screen is bigger” game that smartphone manufacturers (and users) seem to be playing nowadays.

The smartphone is made by Huawei, who is slowly getting more US market share, especially in the budget niche (the AT&T Impulse is a great phone, for example), and has a pretty good design and construction, especially for the price. It is only 114mm in length, and even though it’s pretty wide at 63mm, it feels more like the phones of yester-year than modern big-screen smartphones. The 12mm thickness is just enough to make it feel substantial and sit well in your hand(s).

On the front, you’ll see the small 2.6 inch display (with an also small 320×240 pixels resolution) right away, along with the QWERTY keyboard, navigation buttons and a D-pad, which is very handy when scrolling through stuff or writing a long email or document (sadly, most manufacturers seem to have forgotten about this). In fact, this phone resembles a Blackberry even more than a lot of the other portrait QWERTY devices out there like the Samsung Galaxy Pro. The keyboard is pretty well made, and although it doesn’t hold a candle to any Blackberry, it’s still good enough for writing anything.

The internal hardware is nothing to talk about – in fact, I’d be ashamed of even mentioning it :-) , but it’s good enough for people who don’t care about that and just want a phone that works AND holds a charge for more than half a day. The phone has all the usual features like Wifi, Bluetooth, USB, GPS and 3G, but the processor and RAM will slow everything down, for sure – Huawei used a low end (and low power) 600 MHz Qualcomm and 256 MB of RAM, which are just enough to run Android Gingerbread and some apps, but won’t hold for anything more intensive or any heavy multitasking.

Yes, the phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is actually a surprise, since it’s supposed to have a 1 GHz minimum processor speed requirements – then again, it runs fine on the original Droid and even the HTC G1, so it should be pretty smooth on the Sprint Express, as well. There are a couple of hundred Megabytes of storage space inside, but you can always buy a micro SD card to expand that to up to 32 GB.

The phone costs only $20 with a contract, so it’s a good deal for everyone who is just getting into the smartphone world and doesn’t need a powerful computer in their pocket at all times.

Smartphone HTC Edge 4 Cores Feature and Spesification

We know that HTC is not going to sleep a lot on their laurels, in fact, everyone knows, however little he knows about HTC, this is a very prolific company. In fact, this year there have been numerous models of high and mid range. Everything seems to point out that the Taiwanese company is committed to market the first Android handset with nVidia Tegra processor cores April 3.

If this alone does not make you watch your mouth water with the other technical features that will bring you the terminal listed below:

  • Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad-core 1.5 GHz
  • Version 4.0 of Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
  • SuperLCD multitouch screen and 4.7-inch 720 x 1280 resolution.
  • HTC Sense 4.0
  • Proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
  • Accelerometer for auto-rotate UI and gyroscope.
  • 1 GB of RAM.
  • 32 GB of internal storage.
  • Quad Connection.
  • WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth.
  • GPS.
  • 8-megapixel main camera with LED flash and autofocus.
  • Front camera capable of recording at 720p.
  • Geo-Tagging.
  • Face detection.
  • Main camera recording at 1080p at 30 frames per second.
  • 1800 mAh battery.
At the moment we only have a picture of his appearance and the possible components that will accompany it, so that we can only'll hold until we have more news as the release date and confirmation that the HTC Edge final cover the new version of the processors nVidia Tegra.

All indications are that the rumors of HTC Edge specifications come from very reliable sources as has happened on other occasions with terminals also Taiwanese company which points to a terminal, in my opinion, very succulent and the two specifications Samsung 4CHAN filtered Galaxy SIII with which, a priori, could compete for share market.
