Install Canon IP2700 / IP2770 in Linux Ubuntu [Tutorial]

Canon IP2770 Printer is one of the same series with the IP2700. Before installing the printer driver, we have to install the Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) by typing:

sudo apt-get install cups

if it has already installed, can be viewed in the browser by typing

http://localhost:631

and will display the page below:




it was a sign that the Cups have been installed into your Ubuntu system.

next step Download IP 2700 driver at the following url :

http://files.canon-europe.com/files/soft38679/software/iP2700_Linux_Package.tar


Installing the Driver

For installation, type on terminal :


tar xvf iP2700_Linux_Package.tar

tar xvf cnijfilter-ip2700series-3.30-1-i386-deb.tar.gz

cd cnijfilter-ip2700series-3.30-1-i386-deb/deb/

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

To install the nautilus is very easy, simply by double clicking on the files contained in folders deb.

Then can be viewed in a browser by typing


http://localhost:631/printers/


That means the driver has been installed. Enjoy it.
