LibreOffice 3.4.4 is here to fix some of the most-important bugs found by users in the previous releases. Fixes include bugs found in the Calc, Impress, Writer, SDK, and the core libraries of LibreOffice.

LibreOffice 3.4.4 is quite identical to the Release Candidate 2, but users should upgrade even if they have the lasted development version installed.

Please note that there are known issues with the LibreOffice 3.4.4 office suite when using GCJ (GNU Compiler for Java) Java. Instead, Linux users should install and use OpenJDK.

· import filter for Microsoft Works documents;
· easily format title pages and numbering in LibreOffice Writer;
· enhanced Navigator Tool in LibreOffice Writer;

· PDF import support;
· slide-show presenter console;
· better report builder;
· comes bundled with lots of great extensions.

LibreOffice 3.4.4 can be safely deployed for production use on all enterprises. LibreOffice also won InfoWorld's BOSSIE Award 2011 as Best of Open Source Software, and the Open World Forum Experiment Award of Most-Popular Software.

As usual, LibreOffice 3.4.4 also contains some non-critical problems, which will be fixed in the next maintenance release. LibreOffice 3.4.5 will be available for download in February 2012.
