First Sony Xperia Pepper (MT27i) Press Render Leaks
There has been much talk on Sony's Android roadmap for 2012. Some of the devices leaked a few months ago have already been launched or are about to get released on the market.

Sony Xperia S is now available for purchase in the UK, Australia, Singapore, as well as a few other countries, while Xperia S and Xperia U have been officially announced and are expected to hit shelves in April.
Information about Sony Xperia Pepper (MT27i) leaked a while back. Some of the phone's specs are already known, and a some benchmarks have surfaced as well.
Today, the folks at Ameblo.jp manged to get their hands on a press render of the allegedly Sony Xperia Pepper (MT27i).
Rumor has it that the smartphone might be officially announced in the following weeks, but so far there are no additional details on the exact release date for Xperia Pepper.
There's a high chance that the smartphone will be renamed in order to follow the same naming-pattern of the newly announced Xperia NXT series.
It appears that the Sony Xperia Pepper (MT27i) will be shipped with Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread operating system, but it will likely receive an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade soon after launch.
The Xperia Pepper (MT27i) is a mid-range Android smartphone. The handset is powered by a dual core processor clocked at 1GHz. It is equipped with an ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 chipset, though this has yet to be confirmed.
Furthermore, Sony Xperia Pepper (MT27i) sports a 3.7-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution with reality display provided by Sony. In addition, the smartphone packs a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper.
Other highlights of the device includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, NFC support with Xperia Smart Tags, and 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery. The smartphone is aimed at youngsters and will probably launched in more color variations.
