MEPIS LLC has announced, through Warren Woodford, the release of SimplyMEPIS 8.0, a Debian 5.0 (Lenny) based Linux distribution for both 32- and 64-bit processor architectures. .Using the stable Debian foundation with an enhanced Long Term Support kernel, important package upgrades and many applications, SimplyMEPIS 8.0 is a complete desktop solution.
"Debian, which is renowned for its stability and live cycle support, released Lenny a week ago as the latest version of Debian. By building on this excellent upstream base, we expect MEPIS 8.0 to enjoy a long life as a personal and business desktop system.
